A Case study of Eventie App
About Eventie
Eventie as the name implies is an online platform that enables potential couples, corporate bodies and other individual who are planning for events or parties to look for event planning stakeholders. Eventie App product is a personal notion which I started its conceptualization in December 2020.
Ideation
Planning for events can be quite a hassle sometimes especially for those who are not buoyant financially but want their events to be on par and find it difficult to navigate the right event vendor who can orchestrate this for them. As an individual, I might want to plan for a mini party to enjoy myself with a sizable guest but have the challenge of meeting the event vendor who will make my desire to be achieved coupled with my finances.
Some potential couples who would like to get married and are planning for their wedding day are also faced with the challenge of getting the right event vendors such as caterers, photographers and other stakeholders involved in making an event a memorable one, who they will be able to chat with, get responses to see the viability of how they can entertain their guests and themselves with the opportunity of doing that from the comfort of the homes. Getting a platform where this activities will be done online will be a boost for this concerned set of people.
Corporate bodies and other parastatals who organise conferences, workshops and would love to entertain guests at these events but are clueless on finding the right event caterer, getting Eventie App to this virtually will not be a bad idea.
The Process
The steps involved in designing the product put the users of the product into consideration from empathy, ideation and implementation of the UX findings of the users where potential clients will have the opportunity of chatting up with any vendor of their choice. Also, each vendors will have the privilege of showcasing their portfolios on the home page of the app which can be liked by any clients or users of the app. Hence, a user Persona was developed as part of the UX process in order to address the users pain points and needs.
User Journey
With the above user research of the users of the product, the app took into consideration the steps each user will take to arrive at registering an account either as a vendor or a client. The resulting User flow is shown below which put the user at ease in having an account on Eventie.
Low-fidelity
The low fidelity wireframe shows how the Ideation part was put into use in developing sketches for the Eventie mobile app. Here we can see the hierachy of elements of the eventie app being displayed below.
Conclusion
This App was designed to help individuals who need to hire event vendors without leaving the comfort of the homes in search for vendors services. This design may not be perfect though, it is just an idea I thought would be nice, so I decided it was best to bring the idea into reality through writing and designs. The project, is, however, open to more improvements as time progresses for this is not the final bus stop. I will continue to work on it until it becomes a reality.
This is my first attempt at writing a Case study, and my first mobile design. I started my UI/UX journey December 2020. I am open to criticism and will appreciate your feedback, and what you think about this project.
